Everything Happens For A Reason

I firmly believe that…everything does happen for a reason…I was devastated when trump won the election…I kept hearing…give him a break…let’s wait and see how he does…maybe he’ll step up to the plate…so, okay…trump tells us “I am working for you”…”you” meaning himself…trump via his associates kept showing us who he surrounds himself with…and day one shows us that he is a liar…he tells America his inauguration was the “biggest ever” when photos prove him wrong…so the White House lies at every turn…whatever is convenient…today James Comey, fired FBI director, now private citizen, under oath, called trump a liar…and he knew the nature of the man who he was meeting with on that first meeting at trump tower…making mental notes then putting those on paper…he knew he would need those notes/memos to defend himself later…following his “guts”…“I was honestly concerned that he might lie about the nature of our meeting,”…he told some of his associates at the FBI bureau about what went on…everyone except Jeff Sessions, deliberately did not tell Sessions…Sessions was “problematic”…in a credibility race trump the hare would lose to the Comey the tortoise…the Republicans defending this “toad”…just look the other way…Paul Ryan defending trump…he’s new at this president thing…oh, he just doesn’t know about separation of powers…he’s still learning the job…everyday another shoe drops from the centipede of trump’s administration… Comey’s testimony put nails in trump’s coffin… Comey has no doubt that Russia interfered in our election…in all the meetings and telephone calls trump never once asked Comey about the Russian interference or what we are doing to prevent this from happening again…it was only about him…me, me, me…I think trump thought it would be easy to become dictator…running the country like the “godfather”, “the Don”…with help by the Republicans, so bent on giving “we the people” the shaft…so, everything happens for a reason…I believe that this evil man was elected so that our Democracy would be put to the test…to get a shot in the arm…it will pass that test…our Democracy will prevail…this evil man will be brought down and humiliated…he will go into the history books and it will spurn new blood who are outraged, getting into government…plus getting us, we the people, more aware and invested in Government…

feeling good about what happened today with Comey’s testimony…got the Ambler Theater Preview magazine…an old movie at the Ambler…Twentieth Century…a Howard Hawks screwball comedy with John Barrymore and Carole Lombard ( she was married to Clark Gable in 1939 and died in a plane crash while out on a War Bond Tour in 1942 )… from Wikipedia:  Twentieth Century is a 1934 American pre-Code screwball comedy film. Much of the film is set on the 20th Century Limited train as it travels from Chicago to New York City. The film was directed by Howard Hawks, stars John Barrymore and Carole Lombard, and features Walter Connolly, Roscoe Karns and Edgar Kennedy. Ben Hecht and Charles MacArthur adapted their Broadway play of the same name – itself based on the unproduced play Napoleon of Broadway by Charles Bruce Millholland – with uncredited contributions from Gene Fowler and Preston Sturges.^[2]

Along with Frank Capra‘s It Happened One Night, also released in 1934 (which amazingly has exactly the same music over the opening titles), Twentieth Century is considered to be a prototype for the screwball comedy.^[3] “Howard Hawks’ rapid-fire romantic comedy established the essential ingredients of the screwball – a dizzy dame, a charming but befuddled hero, dazzling dialogue and a dash of slapstick.” Its success propelled Lombard into the front ranks of film comediennes.^[3] The film was added to the National Film Registry of the Library of Congress in 2011.
